Summer Club

The woodwynd summer club is now closed for 2012. we had 70 children per day registered to come along and they had a ball with our zorbs!!! the kids tried over 20 sports and visited glasgow, irvine , saltcoats and kilmarnock on weekly outings, total number of visits were 1350 and we could have had many more. The woodwynd gala hosted the medal presentation where the cherubs got a wee thanks you. We had a lot of good feed back from Parents and this wil be used for our evaluation purposes.

ACES also arranged a visit from the North Ayrshire Climbing Wall plus hosted Indoor Curling, Bowls alongside outdoor activities such as Archery.

The format of the usual summer club was changed this year and new projects and new activities were the order of the five weeks school holidays. This year ACES targeted the environment, recycling, the Elements, social histroy and keeping us safe this meant visits from police scotland  British transport Police, nil by mouth five projects for each week, field trips included AYR, Finlayson park, Peoples palace, Eglinton park whitelees wind farm a total of 54 children per day attended and enjoyed the many different activities and events, many of the kids had never been to the ACES summer club and enjoyed waterslides , building rafts, boats and what you can do with a 2l plastic bottle !


the kids all enjoyed the different elements as well as visits from Police Scotland and the fire and rescue service.

The 2013 summer street wise programme gave kids chance to build models and visit different kids of places not normally part of school. this included the whitelees wind farm finlayson country estae and Ayr beach

some days were spend whizzing down the banking on water slides and water pistols at the ready, as well as all different sports.
